Busy week!

HAPPY 2008! =)

I feel old.

Especially since I only have like less than 4 months before I say bye-bye to my teenage years. Sigh.

And my siblings are not helping, either. They're like, "Eiiii, Kak Ya's OLD!"

Kurang asam punya budak-budak.

And I don't want to make any resolutions because I'm going to break them, anyways.

I have so, so, so much to talk about in this post. Like, really a lot.

In my previous post, I was complaining whining about being tired, right?
The reason was because I was so busy helping with my cousins at my cousin (from my mum's side), Amir's, farewell party last Saturday because he was headed towards the States on the 31st. I didn't know what I did that night, I knew I had to refill the food, dash out to the 7-11 twice and do some other jobs, but I can't remember why I was feeling tired. I guess it could be due to the fact that I was wearing a black-coloured shirt that night, and since I was sitting in the kitchen like practically 99% of the night with the rest of the girl cousins because there were so many of Amir's friends everywhere and so no place for us to sit, it got a little bit stuffy in the kitchen and I got really dehydrated. And thus this contributed to my tiredness.

Oh, I met some interesting guys that night. Amir had this friend, Ariff, who was nice la, but talks a lot. Like, can-rival-Zara a lot. And Zara's a girl. So, yeah. Oh, and one of Amir's friends looked really familiar to me, so I asked one of my girl cousin what his name was. And she said that the guy's name is Adam. I was like thinking, "I knew I've seen that face somewhere" but then I got busy with the food again, so I totally forgot about the guy.

Later, he went into the kitchen and he asked me, "Alia, kan?" and I'm like "Yeahhhhh" and then he was like, "I'm Adam. You were in Melawati 2 right?" and then in my head I realised why his face looks so familiar. Adam was my classmate back in standard 5, if I'm not mistaken. Oh yeah, the world is small. Too small, in fact. I wanted to ask him how he knew my cousin and stuff, but my defensive wall went up and I got too shy to ask. Oh yeah. My shyness has prevented me from knowing a lot of people. Sigh.

So anyways, that night I left my cousin's house around 12.30 am. It took me one hour to get back because they closed off the bloody flyover in front of Taman Sri Ukay (near Zaty's house) and I cursed like mad all the way back because it took me half an hour to reach home from Jalan Ampang when on a normal day it only takes me like 10 minutes, tops. Oh yeah, my language in the car was definitely colourful. Luckily everyone else in the car (Anis and Zara) were sleeping. So, I got home at like 1.30 in the morning and seriously, I can't wait for Anis to get her license so that she could drive me around because I am seriously getting sick of driving. And to think that I only got my license like less than 3 years ago.

On Sunday, I hung out with Kak Tish (my cousin from my dad's side) since it was her birthday and I had to go send some medicine to her house. So Sunday was a very quiet day. Which was nice, because at her house, we stayed in bed and slept. and read books. and chilled.

On Monday morning, I had to wake up at like 5 o'clock because we promised to send Amir off, so we had to meet up with my aunt and uncle and my cousins at the airport by 7 o'clock since Amir's flight was at 9 oclock. Surprisingly, both my parents didn't follow, but all of the kids woke up, so I had to drive the Estima to KLIA at 6 o'clock in the morning. The kids all stayed up on the way to KLIA, to teman me la supposedly but secretly I know they were scared that I might fall asleep at the wheel. Hahaha. So we saw our cousin off, and later in the day I had to do some shopping because we had a potluck dinner-firework show-birthday celebrations-new year's eve celebration thing at Kak Tish's house because our grandfather's birthday was on that day and Kak Tish's birthday was the day before that and it just so happened to be New Year's eve, so we jumbled everything up into one party.

That night we had fun, but I was a bit tired because well, I did wake up at 5 and I've been busy the whole day!
We didn't do much, and the kids found the Twister game that we played with the last time (pictures are in this post) so we ended up playing Twister. For some strange reason, every time it was my turn, I had to put one of my feet on the mat, so while everyone was crouching down with their hands and feet tangled, I was standing up comfortably (Mwahahahahahahahaha!!!!).

We had our own supply of fireworks, leftovers from our raya celebration, so we fired those off like 5 minutes before midnight. SO much fun! Took videos of the fireworks, and will upload the videos later, if I'm not too lazy.

I slept at my cousin's house that night, and we drank some of these non-alcoholic sparkling juices that were like pink and blue and the ladies were all attracted to the pink one. Kak Tish taught us this game called Seven that was really interesting, and every time someone messes up, they have to drink the sparkling juice. It was like a drinking game, only without alcohol because I don't drink alcohol. Anis got sugar high and was laughing herself to sleep. So scary. After tiring ourselves out over playing the game, we slept at like 3 in the morning.

On New Year's Day, over breakfast brunch, my uncle suddenly offered both Anis and I jobs at his office because he knew that we were both on holiday and are kinda available for work. We were happy and totally accepted the offer and said that we would start on Monday, which gave us some time to actually go and buy some clothes for work and stuff. So Anis and I were happy that we got jobs and that finally, we can make some money even though we know we'll be doing mostly admin jobs anyways.

But then, yesterday Kak Tish called and said that her dad needed staff like ASAP and that we had to start today. I was whining to her that I don't have any work clothes and she was like, "Go buy la". I only had RM100 to spend for clothes, okay? So I had to buy some stuff at Alpha Angle because I couldn't go anywhere else since I didn't have that much money.

Today Anis and I woke up early so that we could be in the office early. The office was in Megan Avenue, which was a short walk from the Ampang Park LRT station. We took the train because I couldn't be bothered to pay the parking and to be stuck in jams. It's much more convenient anyways.

We were really early this morning because we were there by 8 and we were only suppose to be in by 8.30 to 9, so we went to sit at the mamak in the building. My uncle owns several companies, and as luck would have it, even though Anis and I are in the same building, we were assigned into different offices. I was put into P, which is basically a company dealing with engineering projects, and they are having like a shortage of engineers, while Anis is in another office. For some reason, every time I meet someone new, they will be asking "Are you the new engineer?" and I have to explain that no, I am not the new engineer, I'm here because my uncle says there's a vacancy and because I am waiting to start a new semester in Uni next month.
I was a bit pissed off la but I just kept on smiling.

And best part was, in the 9 hours that I was there, I only had like 2 hours of work because they were not sure of what job to give to me. I had such a productive day. Anis got a job as the receptionist, hehehe. At least she has some work to do. I have no idea what's waiting for me in the office tomorrow.

Oh, and apparently some of the guys in the office play futsal, and they have a shortage of players, so they asked whether Anis and I play futsal. To tell you the truth, I would love to play futsal. I mean, I seriously do, even if I lack the skills to play.

But then, while walking towards the LRT station on our way back, Anis and I started thinking whether it will be a good idea to play futsal with these men (and seriously, they're not that young). I mean, if the team is made out of mostly men, won't it mean that we would be playing against men, too? Say if I have the ball, don't you think that I might get molested by these men? I mean fine, they only want the ball, but the possibility of us girls getting touched is quite high.

I watch football almost every week, so I know how guys play football.

And futsal is still football.

And men are still men.

And so Alia is very scared.

I hope tomorrow will be better.

See, I told you this would be a long post!

Kay, I need to get some rest now because I have work in the morning!!!
